Heartland Harp Ensemble By Lorinda Jones
What are we?
The Heartland Harp Ensemble is a Central Kentucky based music organization under the direction of Lorinda Jones and comprised of harpists of all ages and playing levels.Based in Elizabethtown, KY, the ensemble not only plays traditional music from the Celtic lands where the harp originated, but also music of modern composers, including one of our own and a variety of genres. In addition to programs of traditional Welsh, Scottish, Irish, and English music, the group performs Sacred, Christmas, World and Hosparus music programming. Many of the harpists are multi-instrumentalists adding flute, vocals, accordion, violin, whistle, bowed psaltery, dulcimer, percussion and other unique folk instruments to this very special harp ensemble, and one of a kind in Kentucky!
